Siyapatha Finance PLC which was formerly known as Sampath Leasing and Factoring Limited prior to obtaining a finance company license from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka recently won the Gold award in the Specialized Leasing Company category at the Annual Report Awards 2013 competition organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka at the Water’s Edge Battaramulla.

I.W. Senanayake, Chairman of Siyapatha Finance PLC received the coveted award from Preethi Jayawardena, CEO of the Chemanex PLC. Siyapatha Finance PLC is a fully owned subsidiary of Sampath Bank PLC and also its largest subsidiary.

Focusing on the continuous growth and new product introductions to the financial sector coupled with its overall performance above the industry average, the company’s 2012 annual report was themed as “We get noticed”.

The report predominantly highlighted the innovative financial products and new opportunities Siyapatha Finance bestowed to the local clientele.

Roshan Nanayakkara CEO of Siyapatha Finance PLC reiterated, “The company has won the Silver award for last two consecutive years in the represented category and winning the Gold award for this year is a significant achievement which proves that the company is navigating itself in the right direction whilst maintaining good financial reporting practices coupled with sound corporate governance and transparency”.

He further stated that “We were able to communicate with in this report our corporate objectives, highlight our performance, elucidate in depth on our innovative financial products and maintain our commitment to transparency within the financial services sector”.

Siyapatha Finance winning the Gold award in the Specialized Leasing companies’ category this year was a significant and commendable achievement as this being only its third year of competing for the award. The company also won the Silver award in the previous two consecutive events held in years 2011 and 2012.
